TIP 10: Choose Your Quit Date

Festive Flavors: Honey-Glazed Ham

Sweet, celebratory, and full of transformative energy.

A simple ham becomes extraordinary with a sweet, sticky honey glaze — just as positive self-talk can transform limitation into growth. This dish is a reminder that small, thoughtful touches can elevate an experience, creating joy and celebration for all who gather at your table.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (6–8 lbs)

  • ½ cup honey

  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Optional: pineapple slices or maraschino cherries for garnish

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Prep the ham: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about ¼-inch deep.

  2. Make the glaze: In a small bowl, mix honey, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, cloves, and cinnamon until smooth.

  3. Glaze and bake: Place ham in a roasting pan and brush generously with half of the glaze. Bake uncovered, basting every 20 minutes with remaining glaze, for 1 ½ – 2 hours until heated through and caramelized.

  4. Optional garnish: Decorate with pineapple slices or cherries for a festive presentation.

  5. Serve: Slice and arrange on a platter, drizzling any extra glaze over the top.

Mindful Moment

As the honey glaze caramelizes and the aroma fills the kitchen, notice how a simple, consistent effort — brushing and basting — transforms the ordinary into something extraordinary. Just like positive self-talk, it’s the small, repeated actions that create lasting growth and joy.
